I'd bet whale is an excellent bait.

It is after all a very oily fish, like cod,mack and tuna.

Cod is full of omega 3. It's a very oily fish. That's why we have cod liver oil.

Omega 3 is a fatty acid. Whitefish (eg cod) store oil in their liver. Oily fish (eg mackeral) also store it in their flesh.

But I would still think whale would have a fair bit of oil in their flesh.
