was a great comp , weather was unreal, good call by jd not to fish enneireilly even though we protested a bit
geting to the comp was so much fun with us meeting in jack whites,, then trying to get to the venue with the n11 closed
i ended up in a forest at one stage braking my rear fog light
but all in all great fun, fair play to the lads who stuck it out, and for keith murphys great idea WE WOULDN NEED BEACH BUDDYS

I'm putting a locked sticky up as well where I can keep league table up to date, as well as post results of each comp. I'll also post results in each competition thread..
I think I enjoyed this up to a point. Struggled to get them in to size, dropping a few in the surf as well. Was quite happy to head off early, dry off, and get ready to examine soggy blobs of cardboard.. (you know who you are

)
20 fished this.

ye did right to switch from ennereilly - it was mental there last night - gates blown down off hinges, trees down, etc., etc. ye'd have been blown out of it...

well happy with 6th considering I packed up at 8. Although I think I would still be fishing if I had to try catch Dennis......excellent fishing mate....you really got into them.... Anything specific working for you

Foe me, I was getting most of my better whiting a little higher up in the water.

must say i had a pretty good day of it, even with the weather. wind towards the end was crazy. couldnt hold bottom for more than 2-3 minutes with a 7 oz and and uptide cast/ bow of line. was pretty happy with 3rd although i did have 5 blank casts around 6 o clock which killed me

My first outing since Youghal and really enjoyed it! Great to be out again and good to see everybody, good crack as always!
God Bless Ron Thompson and Oxtail soup! Made the night very pleasant indeed!

My ass imprint is still on the tackle box!
Was very happy with my third
last

Just an interesting note -
1st & 2nd place (Dennis & Marco) had no angler on the peg to their right, Peg 6 & Peg 18 Free, thus meaning they could put their casts further uptide into the strong right to left tide and hold out, having more time in the water fishing effectively.
Although in saying that Boycie was on the end peg and didn't exactly make hey! Although Mac did unbeleiveable for someone who jacked it up at 8 O'Clock & he was on Peg 1. Just thought it was an interesting point.

Cheers Alby.... I managed to hold bottom with a 7oz lead until about 7:30. George was on my right, so I wasn't able to put my casts into the tide so to speak, but I wasn't too concerned about the lead moving to the left. Was nice to be out again. I honestly can't remember the last time I was on a beach.......

Good point Alby, I demand a rematch, sure that's not fair at all!
ps: I had nobody on the peg to my right either!
Excellent fishing by the lads was what done it! Lousy winners gang!

Nice theorie Alby if not that my lead ended up 100 yard away and 20 yard behind me on the beach. Good thing George had packed up at that stage otherwise he would still be walking around with a few prongs sticking out of his forehead. Well done Dennis. Good call JD, I owe you an apologie for giving you a hard time.
