Is this the place where we all got sunburned last year? Hope it's not as hot this time. Bring the shorts!

I'll be there.

Yes, that's the place. We're holding it in February to avoid a repeat of this ...

"Pier fishing was, indeed, an eccentric, unproductive and extremely dull occupation, and even if we'd posessed the necessary heavy plant we decided not to attempt it." Chris Yates, Out of the Blue.

Yes, following numerous reports of sightings of beached whales from the locals it was decided it was in everyones best interests to avoid such indecent displays this time around.....

F**k Pete how am I meant to find the place now that I've gone blind! :D

Scratching was the order of the day last comp. I employed similar tactics the other day there with Pete and caught. Depends on conditions there I suppose...

see the last comp

Looking forward to this, got a little practice in down there and might make it down again before the comp :P Might have peaked too early though after showing Mr Davis up down there the other day, should have played my cards closer to my chest.

Hey Pete what you going to do to get motivated for this comp. without the Crow and myself fishing this one,i guess with Lee starting to beat you now he'll be your target next
Not only out for this one but i'm afraid "Sicknote" strikes again i'm out of fishing (pleasure and comps.) for awhile    nothing major just doctors orders...i'm sure Seancelt will do his best to get me out fishing soon
Best of luck to the lads fishing this one  :)

Have to say i started off with scratching tactic's purely because from what i could see most of the guy's around me could distance cast and i can't compete on distance(as i'm sure most of the lads i fish with will be only to happy to tell you  )
Noticed early on there was a sandbank about 30-40 yards in front of myself and Steve, just kept on hitting the far side till the counters came, also have to admit when one of the first fish came in that i could see caught, was belong to Seancelt who i know starts with a certain type of bait,it was a case of switching over and waiting for the bites.
Not sure what it fishes like at this time of year but it really could be a case of who hits the right method the earliest could win it, if the fishing down East Cork this year is anything to go by.It really could be anybody who could win it,plus i have to say it was one of the most enjoyable sessions(outside the result :D ) i've ever had, the laugh was brilliant. So for anybody who is new to the game i think this one of the comps. to go to.

get well soon Gavin..

Just realised, this comp is going to interfere with my six nations watching. Who's bringing the telly? Ah well, at least I'll get to see Scotland on Sunday.
