SAI Tope Meet, Carrigaholt, 19th and 20th July/08

Postby jw » Tue Jan 08, 2008 11:04 pm

This thread is to collect the names of Club Members for a tope fishing boat trip. The
boat booked is the Clare Dragoon. I'm starting the thread early so I
can book a second boat if needed. To organise it fairly I'll pm you
looking for a 50 euro deposit to reserve a place on the trip.

Report from last year is at

are you considering a lever drag -- if the tope starts to run on you, you can quickly apply the exact drag neeeded?

I'm interested in this. Dunno yet if for 1 or 2 days.

Hi,
it looks like some posts are missing in this topic after issues with forum hosting. Could you guys post these maps again please?

I hope that this event is still going on - in the mean time I landed this 2.3 m blue shark last monday (skipper recons around 100lb but you probably will know better if he was right) - so it realy looks worth to try for blue ones as well.

wow great shark

directions and map are at

http://www.sea-angling-ireland.org/bull ... hp?t=14569

the ideal times for tope are at slack water, so one day we might fish the morning tide, come in for lunch and go out again to fish the evening tide,
details to be posted here shortly
