the thing with rays is the bait must be nailed to the bottom ,so depending on tide you could go from 12" to 36" something like an up and over rig with the snood just above the lead up to a clip and back down to a bait clip.i use 30-40 lb snoods not that the rays have teeth but they do have crushing pads which can damage snoods no problem.cheers john

sorta mixed ground mark, nothin to rough...mainly sand and a few rocks interspersed...this particular place is very calm and well sheltered...seems to be little or no tidal pull...another mark im tryin is rough enough ground, with strong pull on tide...

up and over pennel hands down, use hooks in the 1/0 to 3/0 range depending on the size of the fish, if the tide is strong keep the snoods short so they are not flapping about in the tide and long snoods in marks with little or no tide run.. . . . . . . .. . well thats what i do anyway :D :D

Same as that.
Try attaching a small rubber muppet or a flashing spoon to your snood, just a few inches above the hook...

Up and over bomber with the snood 6" from the lead. Bites will be "wallop, slack, then grab your rod before its dragged in".

A up and over or a millenium rig with short snoods and size 1 or 1/0 hooks always works for me

tend to use a 3/0 pennel pulley rig with 80lb rig body and trace, although a large reason for this is the huss which populate the same ground as our ray
