Scratching rigs brought some results on Killiney beach at the weekend, coalies, rockling and dab were all had.

Large rig at distance brought in absolutely nothing, the scratching rig technique has saved me blanking now in the last few sessions.

Eoin it can be like that at this time of year. remember fishin a one hook clip down as far as i could put it and a scrather within the first 5- 20 yards. caught in close- nothing out far. it would actually be enjoyable fishin if i had a light feeder rod....

need to get some practice in- lots of new stuff to try. fishin brain has been workin overtime. always happens when your too busy and u know u cant get out!

any coalies over a pound? did u use mussel? lug and mussel can work well for flounder here.... should be an odd small plaice around now too, small king ragworm il gettim.

Know how you feel Mark. I broke my leg two years ago and sat in the house for fourth months not being able to fish....nearly drove me mad...worse again when people would ring you up to tell what they'd caught :x

Na, was using three hook flappers with size 2 and size 4 hooks depending.
Most fish fell to razor, I used mussel mostly in cocktails on the pennel at distance but did put some on the smaller rigs.
small chunks of fresh razor tipped off with mack or squid or all three.
None of the coalies were above half pound if even......

Had whites as well and they took a coalie or two.
