Setting up the Beach buddy.

Hi all,

I recently got myself a beach buddy and have a few questions, as I can't find instructions for the setup online anywhere.
I had it out on the beach one time and it worked fine and all but I just had the impression that it wasn't set up correctly, basically the legs don't lock into the top of it, it's kinda off centre and I would have expected them to lock into it in some way instead of the way it works at the moment.
I also have a handle with it with strings, I was wondering what that is for, it looks to me like a control handle for a kite, so I was wondering if it was something to hang onto if you were in the buddy with a force 10 blowing to stop it from blowing away. Does anyone know how it works or even better have any links online as to how to set them up correctly?

Cheers,

Eoin.

Beach Buddy

The best way to set up your Beach buddy is 'open end into the wind' when you get it opened tilt the B/B on the two front legs so that the wind can go under it, when you get the B/B fully opened and on all four legs slide in the thing you call the handle this locks the legs and clip on the string to the pole. Things to watch out for are the hood can get caught in the leg lock when opening. I have one of the original beach Buddy's i got one when they came into the country first, It has stood the test of time, i have been out in near hurricane conditions and once you bury them in nothing will move them. They are an essential piece of equipment both in summer and winter. The best of luck with your beach buddy.
