Has anyone ever fished here looks like a good spot for wrasse and pollack have only ever been there surfing. It looks pretty promising deep water of the rocks and clean sand off the beach. Thanks in advance.

Hey jack,

Nice part of the country that. I too spent a lot of time down there surfing and kayak surfing. Hane only fished it twice. Both times I blanked, that said I was only starting out. There is good deep water off to the left of the surfing beach. Granted the bottom can be extremely snaggy so float fishing for wrasse could be the way to go. I have also fished the beaches on the left on the way into the corner wherre the surf beach is. I fished these at night and lost every rig I put in the corner. Give it a go, chances are you'll do better than I did.

If you're around that area there are heeps of other good marks. Salt lake (at wire bridge) will without doubt trhow you up some pollock and if you head out to cleggan (approx 30 mins away) off the pier and beach at the back there is good fishing to be had. The central fisheries board website have some great info on this area with a map showing all the marks.

Hope this helps
