waders and size

Thu Feb 15, 2007 3:08 pm

just got a new pair waders they are the right size in boot but seem very big in leg very like a tent.

Will these shrink or fit better when not so new or does it matter

No they don't shrink its just the cut of the waders. I baought some abu waders as they were cheap and their like one of those sumo fat suits.

Pookie,

That's the way most waders are made..some do have side adjusters though, but you can wear a belt with them, lots of guys do.

The bonus on baggy could come if you ever fell in the drink (God forbid) then baggy waders are easy to take off. On the same note, wearing a belt means they hold air and will stop you sinking as fast.

are they breathables, rubber or neoprene? the breathables and rubber ones tend to be loose so you can wear them over layers for warmpth

they are neoprene and baggie around the legs just

Can the shoulder strap be tightened. The abu set I have come with a belt that I found in the pocket after 3 months of use. The belt will help pull up the waders and make walking distance easier. If this doesn't work maybe a high fat diet might help

The snowbee set I had before were a better fit but the seam went. I was told after that they should of been hung up by the shoulder straps to prevent this.

i have snobee waders aswel they are very good, but like pookie theres a bit of loose material round the legs, doesnt matter as long as you stay dry

you guys are lucky, i cant find neapone waders to fit ( apparently they don't make them that big) and had to get waders made to fit which are excellent, just wear thermals under them
