Hi lads
As suggested, best option is to join a club. The club on this site has 49 members and runs very 'social' competitions and meets on a regular basis all around the country - that is the big draw - we are the only club that can move all around the place and make the most of the best marks for a given time of year, hence the meet in Donegal in March targeting rays in Swilly. I think the membership is still open - have a word with JD.
Your best local mark is probably Howth Harbour, east pier at the moment -I do not know how it is fishing, but keep an eye on the reports. Pollack, conger, dogs and wrasse are the main species possible there, with the odd small huss and lobster possible! Yep, lobster! Big buggers.
The beaches around Laytown should begin to produce flats and the odd bass soon enough, although you could be waiting for that bass!
I did try fishing around Loughshinny and Donabate but with very little success, although I am told there are marks that can produce bass in summer in the area. Malahide has sea trout, try a search on that as well.
I have listed the marks - such as they are around Dublin - on the shore marks section
http://www.sea-angling-ireland.org/shor ... dublin.htm - you might have a look and try some of them out.
Hope this helps...
BTW, one more member (50) and we would be entitled to send yet another angler to the IFSA master angler competition!
