Hi
Just wondering what are the best times to fish the shannon area ,we will be staying in kilkee. So is it best to fish from low water to high or are there any really good high water to low marks around this area ???We have been over the last 2 yrs but only fished low to high with a decent rate of success but 1 of our party can,t make certain dates so the reason for the question and we don,t want to miss out on our annual trip over
Thanx in advance for any info

Hi Will,

I don't fish enough in clare to say but as there were no other reponses. I wouldn't worry to much about fishing on the ebb destroying fishing. I wouldn't fish carrigaholt on a spring ebb as you'd be chasing the water. Plenty of the inner estuary marks should fish on any state of tide for example kildysert. As generel rule marks with strong tidal currents like kildysert are better on neaps and carrigaholt with a weak tide would IMO be better on a spring.

Might be worth while making your subject as clare marks best tides as it might get more responses. Try contacting ross or neilus on the forum for their opinions.

Again I have only a few annual pilgrimages to the area to go by but I usuall fish 16 hour stints when down there. I find the rise better but there are a few spots like poulnasherry (didn't check spelling) that can only be fished around low water.
