howya croppy i think the best advice is to fish it as you would an ordinary days pleasure fishing,i find anytime i fished club comps in the past ive hyped myself up so much making heaps of rigs getting every type of bait available then on the day of the comp i flute about so much switching and changing i end up in a fluster with very few fish  whereas when im off for the day by myself i just have couple rigs basic baits (worms and mack )and end up with plenty of fish.i will be fishing all my club comps this year that way hopefully i will start doing well.courtown this time of year usually produces the usual suspects this time of year flounder dab whiting and dogs not to far out nothing of great size in the daytime keep hooks small enough as in a comp you will be looking for quantity of counters rather than concentrating your efforts and time into cathing the 1 big fish a couple of 3 n 2 hook flappers and youll be grand hope this has been of some use to you enjoy it and goodluck hope to read a good report after tight lines st john.
