Bass from Jan to March

I know its accepted wisdom that most shore fish and the fishing in general goes down hill during these months. During the last few years I'm noticing that this necessarily isn't the case - any body have any hands on experience on how the bass fishing fares during this period? Im looking at south coast in particular but would be interested to hear anybodies opinion. :)

as i was saying to ya pete if you get the conditions to co-incide with highwater a few hours after dark i'b be relatively hopeful of catching a few. genuine chance still exists until the middle of feb tho.

Good I'm glad to hear that. I think I remember reading something about a lot of the bigger bass being taken in Kerry during the depths of winter.
