the best or certainly the only one i can think of would be the, daiwa-
sandstorm 12 or 13ft, i have cast one of these the best part ot 200
yards, cracking rod for the money,

all the best.

I agree with that as I have two sandstorms , but cant get the 200yards out of them yet

if you can strecth a bit more the greys orion can be picked up for around £99 or so, good alrounder

another decent rod in your price range is the fladen warbird, think its 12 or 13 ft casts 6oz no probs

I'd say a General all Purpose Shore Fishing Rod has to be the Sandstorm... 8)

Grey's do make good rods Liam that one i have is a great rod they sell for £129.99 new and it takes every thing i throw at it and still wants more if i was you Liam i know it is a bit on the expensive side but if you hold of for a week or two till you get the money gathered up then get a grayflex-s
PS you can hold on till that rod of mine for as long as you need it

Phil, never got round to telling you, but that Fladden rod was a pile of sh1t. Lasted one year then the rings started to fall apart. I know i'm not the best in the world at looking after my gear, but it was a bit crap! I guess you get what you pay for

ah, interesting to here, all i knew was that when you had got it it was going well for you, but as with most of the cheaper end rods, the fittings and eyes arent as good as the fugis and the like that you will find on higher spec models.
the blank itself though seemed fairly good??

Some may laugh at this, but i swear by the Viking Power rod from Mustad, they have Fugi rings etc and can takes loads of abuse and mrp is around the £80 mark but can be bought cheaper if you do a google search.

Try southendangling on ebay, they have a shop and trade on ebay as well, they post to NI for about £8. I got a rod off them last week at a far better price than anyone local could do it for and where very quick with delivery too.

well, the fladen warbird im talking about isnt multitip, they do one mind in 15ft or so, nice enough rod for what its planned for, but its not the best of them in that catagorie either, some small problems with them.

L+G Tackle , glenoe ; are worth a call as they are good at giving very competitive prices on some rods and other tackle, as is mid antrim angling centre in ballymena

i have the one your talking about phil, it comes with a reducer.

There are a few problems with the fladen, the rings are not as good as fugi rings but for the price ur paying i think its a wee belter. better than most of the crap u can pay out for that kind of money.

Sea angler done a great article on 50-100 priced rods in last months issue
