Hi and a happy new year too!
I will be in Malmo sometime next month and was thinking of getting a reel and maybe a rod while I'm there, how much do the reels you've mentioned above retail at in Sweden?,and can you give me a name of a good tackle shop in Malmo.
Cheers.

Hi Richie07,
the problem is that fishinggear is not very cheap to buy in Sweden compared to the UK or Ireland.
The reels i have mentioned I have found in the used market so these are not brand new. I asked a couple of tackledealers about CT reels or other surfcastingreels and they didnt have any.
Shops in Malmo are
Fiskekompaniet, köpenhamnsvägen 5
Fiske och Fiskar, Regementsgatan 17
But neither of these have any gear for surfcasting since surfcasting is not very big in Sweden.

rocket would be best, though probably a very quick reel

is the 7700 not a boat reel? would probably be a little bit big for the beach!! :D

My choice wouls be the Mk 2 rocket for clean ground fishing. Good casting reel and parts are cheap if required :)
Are parts still available for the MagII :?

Parts to the MAG II are not made anymore buy ABU, but I know a guy that build parts for reels and he might be able to help me out with that.
The major rebuild on the MAGII is to remove two bars and the line guide and close the holes. A New knob for the magnet-brake adjustment might be needed as well.
But I think I'll set my aim on the MK II sports Rocket, lets just hope I win the bidding on it.

I think that is a wise choice, good luck with the bidding :D

They don't make the Morrum 7700 any more. If you can pick one up at a decent price, you should have no trouble shifting it on. Class piece of engineering. Great for uptiding.
How much is that one you're looking at, just out of interest?

The 7700 CT goes for 1500sek thats approx 110 GBP

yeah, morrum was a class reel for the lighter boat work, especially pollack fishing when they made them

110 is pretty good price. I'd be tempted at that, if I didn't have 3 of the beasties already........ :D
