I'll wait for reports. Okuma have a pretty good reputation for making decent reels at reasonable prices. I'd like to think that someone else can produce a quality mag multiplier. It's about time. From the spec and the photos it looks like it has the potential to rival the big three.

Ya penn, abu and daiwa are the way to go for reels. Tried and tested. Never liked Okuma

I don't know anything about this particular reel, but I've an Okuma Titus Gold 15 and a Titus 10L and I don't believe you can get a better performing reel for the price, or even at the others prices. I know my Shimano TLD15 isn't as good as the Titus 10L, and my Daiwa SLX40 is no better. You'd need to go to a Penn International or Shimano Tiagra to rival the Titus Golds.....at twice the price.

I have a pair of Okuma Inspira FS reels that are miles better than my Shimano Stradic or baitrunner.....

Not so sure, as they are not tried or tested. I am a big fan of ABU multipliers. Have been using one of them since 1981, and still in mint condition, although its got severe TLC, and stripped and serviced regulary.

Okuma may make some good FS reels but they also make crap ones. Cheap FS reels can be useful. Cheap multipliers are usually crap from the start. I'll wait for few years of others testing these reels until I'd buy one.

this reel is due to be tested in sea angler in the next mouth or 2.
akuma make some good stuff and some crap but so do abu and penn.
But i would like to think akuma will make a decedent effort to bring more competition into this market as it seems, a fixed price closed shop.
There earlier m/s were not up to much hope this one dose it.

looking at them personally they look good , very good perfect for the person who is just thinking about getting into multipliers,, maybe there cheaper because ther mark up is less than the big brands ,,, imagine really how much a 525 super mag cost to make ,,,and ive seen them for sale from 190 euro right up to 229

so basically i think its a perfect start not to break the bank and if you dont get on with so what,,, how many of the guys here using multipliers have met fellow anglers on the beach who couldn get used to them tell you that they have a brand new mag or abu or 7 ht sitting at home

not saying there the dogs or anything they just seem to be what were missing,,,, an entry level multiplier
