With the right rod wat do you guys think would hit the longest distance, between a fixed spool shimano big pit reel or a penn 525 Xtra multiplyer, any thoughts?

The rod helps but really the defining factor is the caster. Not sure about fishing distances but on the field the multiplier still rules.

My main problem is thinking too much about every aspect of the cast during the cast.Which usually ends up killing it

yes the caster is the difining factor, forget about thinking the cast through and just go for it, gauge the cast by "feel", the lead tells you when its ready and you tell the rod what to do then,,, and after a few casts the feel of the cast will let you know if your doing it right,,,,,,,,,i think,,,
