gemini lead lifts.

just been makin up some rigs and tidying the box, getting ready for christmas and i discovered a packet of these i think i bought with the intention of using them on huss traces. wondering do they actually work that well, is it worth using them on traces.they look as if they would spin while casting.also would the work with a clipped pulley rig, i'd be afraid that the hook might foul in the vane

i doubt there would be any need to use a lead lift on a pulley rig as the lead is lifted already(when you have a fish that is)..
they seem to be more practicle for bomber rigs where there is a longer rig length to the lead from the snood swivel..
they do work though.. very handy when casting over weed beds and you need the lead lifted quick to clear the weed on retrieval..
they are also very easy to make up as well(saves on the purse strings)
i havent used them in a long time.. but most of the fishing i've been doing is clean ground.. but i do recommend them for rough ground :)

very true steve, although the lead doesnt get pulled forward when no fish is on, worth further investigation i think

I have them with the intention of adding them to the rig clip when the come out of the wallet. This can be difficult as the hole to clip them into is in the center of the vain. Their handy on pulleys for getting a trace back when fishing into clean ground over a reef. The down side for fishing rough ground is their creating an extra snag and more area for the tide to pull on. Home made lead lifts from plastic milk bottles don't snag as they'll be ripped apart.

sometimes used to use them but i found more sucess fishing without them, more distance to get further distance for a starting point on the retrieve, less chance of snagging etc
