Are these any good for shore angling? What could I expect to catch with them in the East coast/Dublin area this time of the year? Cheers.

Gonna try and sum it up in a short answer here...
Yes, is the short answer! You could catch fish with them but for general Sea Angling purposes they might be a bit small. Lures in the 15g to 45g are generally more effective in the sea because you need them heavy enough to be able to cast a reasonable distance.
Having said that I've had really good pollack on the larger sizes of Mepps before - they had additional split shot added for weight to make them heavier. The blade produces a heavy, drumming vibration on the retrieve which drives fish mad.
Pollack, mackerel, garfish, bass, seatrout, even wrasse are all concieveable targets with this lure but spinning for these fish is more of a summertime activity and probably not as effective this time of year. (1. alot of these species will haver moved offshore during the colder months and 2. with the colder water fishes metabolism rates will have slowed and they may not be as inclined to chase baitfish as much a during the summer when the water is warmer)
Mepps are modified and used in the sea for one specific purpose however, anglers modify these mepps by adding beads to the main body instead of the brass weight and replacing the treble with two size 8 hooks. These are then baited with harbour rag and used for thin lipped mullet on very light tackle.
As far as the east coast goes I wouldn't have a clue
Hope this helps

Nicely summed up Liam. The point being that casting something light in winter winds is an exercise in futility. Other than that Kilty have a great reputation for their lures.

They are designed for spinning small rivers mate for trout, perch and jack pike and the like. They are very good for this but you would definitely need some extra weight with them to use them in the salt.

Thanks for the advice! I've been using small round weights with other light lures as adviced by the shop lad:

Do you think they'll work with the kilties, ok on a calm day?
