Razor is fishing its socks off down here at the moment on the beaches for bass. I have no problem in refreezing it and using it again at all. Leaving it to rot a bit however is a different story.... Havent tried that, as mentioned above I have heard its deadly for dabs but then again I havent seen a Dab since January.... :(

Does anyone know why Dogs vomit more(...well more than i've noticed anyway) than other fish! Have caught coalfish with sand eels in there mouth but none ever projectile vomited on me :)

razor is best when off, not fresh.... i think becaus, really it is never a natural food when fresh....it takes a storm to kill it and break it from its shell etc????

think dogs like alot of sharks can expel their stomachs. think larger sharks do it to regurgitate any spiney fish they eat etc. have had bull huss vomit up soft back spider crabs.makes u think eh
hav had quite a few codling on big black lug and razor baits, although black lug would prob have had the same results

I've had plenty of bass on razor, it's good off the south west surf beaches. Other than that it's best used after a good blow.

Bring some to Tramore on the 25th if there's a surf running!!!
Can be deadly in white water!

Razorfish is a bait that fish rarely come across. Only after bad storms does it get washed up from its burrows. Therefore it is not something that fish are tuned into 95% of the time. Agree with other posts needs to be taken out of the freezer and stuck in a plastic bag a week before going fishing for best results.
Having said that when the fish are turned onto it, they will pratically ignore all other bait , only taking worm baits if tipped off with razor. Therefore its always worthwhile having a few with you incase it is one of those days. Dabs are a fish that will take it in a situation like this.
I know that bob moss states that if he was restricted to one bait for bass ,he would choose razorfish. I'm not sure I would agree with him.

Had quite a few Bass over past 2/3 weeks, every one of them on Razor, mostly fresh stuff at that. Absolute dynamite was some I acquired that had been sourced locally.

I understand there is part of the razor which is useless as bait but I never know which piece this is and allways end up using the whole lot, inevitably resulting in me fishing an unatractive bait for a cast or two and waisting some time.
Can someone let me know which part of the razor is to be avoided please?

For some reason its deadly for plaice up my neck of the woods, also found it a useful standby for flounders. Dabs preferred a piece of mackerel any time I was fishing them on different hooks. Picked up dogs on it from the boat.
