Being meaning to buy one of these now that the colder weather is coming and the dark night are now upon us.
In your own experience's what are the best floatation suits for your money. Been looking at the imax ones.
Thanks in advance

Have a look at the Sundridge SAS Mk2 suits. Have the one piece version and it does the job well. Cost under £70 if I remember correctly 8)

I have the sundridge and couldn't fault it ,bar a bit warm in the summer .go for the 2 piece option they're going for about £60 now .the only thing is only the jacket is flotation ,but for winter fishing this isn't a problem as you'll always have the jacket on anyway .

I have the IMAX two piece, for rocks I wear the whole thing, but for beaches at night I tend to wear my chest waders and just the jacket.
Very warm but toasty in the winter, not a chance of getting cold in it.
Highly recommended and the extra safety factor feels good too.

I have the Shakespeare ugly stik 2 piece suit and cant fault it. No longer made but some shops still have them, Think i will go for there replacement which is the Tidewater and can be picked up for around £70.

PS. A1-tackle in Kilkeel are knocking out the Uglystik 2 piece suits for about £60 and an ABU 1 piece for about £40. Also Trap and Tackle in Bangor have got the new Tidewater suits in just this past week or so, but they are looking £80 for them, you should be able to talk him down to the £70 mark though... OH , and i dont work for either of these guys, just happen to price them recently and a friend got the Abu and it seems a good suit.

I've changed my opinion on the IMAX suit since the last time I posted in this thread, it's only a few months old and the braces ripped out of the salopettes the other day. I'm not at all happy with the build quality of it, it's falling apart at the seams and it's only been out about 5-6 sessions, no way it would last longer than about 2 seasons. It's going back this week and hopefully I can exchange it for a sundridge.

I have seen a couple of Imax suit going the same way.

The thread they're using doesn't seem up to it, the knee patch is also slashed like with lots of razor blades, just from kneeling on a shingle beach, and the threads around the knee patch are all cut up too, I would have thought that the thread would be the heavy waxed stuff but it's more like normal thread that you'd use to repair a shirt or a pair of slacks.....bad form in any case, it's not like they're dirt cheap.
