its getting to the time of year when rag and lug borrow deep and availability becomes slim. i have no faith in squid unless i'm fishing for doggies. mack is always a favourite bait at this time of year but u always need an alternative. if anyone could report their success fishing frozen lug it would be greatly appreciated.

Don't know about the frozen lug but if you cut the squid into very thin strips it has worked well for me with all the flaties and whiting you can also use the squid to keep other baits on the hook because it is so tough.

You could try Lazylug i haven't tries it myself but thinking of giving it a blast, it's supposed to Keep it's scent and Stay on the hook better than normal lug and also only be attractive to fish as crabs dont like it apparently :? :? but i'd take everything in it's review with a pinch of salt as they are written to sell the product! but you never know could be good!
Here's the link anyways!

gotta be worth a throw al. looks interesting, i would be very interested if anyone has any reports using lazylug. i agree with a lazycod on the squid keeping other softbaits on the hook but i would'nt be comfortable having a session for the flatties armed with just squid. but thats only my opinion.

Theres a guy on ebay selling "live" lug delivered to your door - havent tried it but might be worth a go - will deliver to Ireland for same price as UK.

frozen black lug can work very well from some venues. if you tip it off with either mackeral, squid, sandeel, mussel....keep the baits tidy though. have had over a dozen flounder and dab on this bait in a short session. can work early in year for first of plaice. will also take cod- whip alongside squid or razor to spice up your bait!

Has anyone seen the Lug in a tub that was recently advertised in an addition of TSF?
