Depends on what type of ground I am fishing.
As a General Rule -
Close Beach Work - flappers or booms
Distance Beach Work 2 or 3 hook clipped
Rough Ground - Pulleys and pennels.....
I spent a lot of time on my rig wallet last week and now have 25 ready made rigs to cover all bases, no doubt I'll have forgotten to tie a certain type and will need it when I am next out....

Well the Best 3 would be in this order 2 hook clip down next 2 hook flapper last 1 hook pulley.

Jude how long it take u to make those up
Mon Oct 23, 2006 9:29 pm
I've been building them up over the past few months.
I always try to make up two or three a week - usually when the missus is watching the soaps, or when I am having a wee swall in the house.
I don't watch much TV so it give me something to do...
The best thing to do is buy a few ready made rigs and copy them from there - here is a good site to show you how to make them up -

http://www.gadsac.freeuk.com/ and go to the Info link

i normally stick to 3 hook flappers or pulleys but find when i sit down making traces i get mad ideas and start marking crazy looking traces and end up using them some work some dont think once the bait is presented right and fish are feeding all ye need is a hook in saying that i aint caught many fish lately :(

With me its a 1 hook clipdown on 1 rod and a running ledger on the other but sometimes use a pulley for rougher ground.

got to be the pulley or the long and low. both these aree in my opinion the most adaptable, can do any thing from lishing over the horizon for flats and such to dropping big mack baits down the side of a pier for conger and every thing in between

over rough ground the pulley rig and anything else the portsmouth rig or mellinium rig as some call it.
