Colour of shockleader??

Does the colour of shockleader really matter when targeting certain species?

I would have to say the less the fish see of our terminal tackle the better. and I would go so far as to say that the less lead swivels etc the better. I f I can get away with it I just free line or use a bullet with split link to a running ledger

Never use shock leader. Usually use 18Ib line with 3oz and have never had a problem. I can send 3oz quite a distance if needs be so seems to work fine.

i tend 2 have a plain transparent shockleader....but i try and make the snood line a bit inconspicious...mayb try a black line...at present im usin black line for snoods and its workin well...

i did a little test with that years ago(back in the ninties) while flattie bashin.... no matter what colour line i used for shockleader it made absolutely no difference,its the rig line that i've found that makes the difference... clear and red ar ok everything else didnt produce fish, i used green, red, yellow, grey, black. blue and clear lines..

i use yellow or red shockleader now because it is easier to see when the rig is getting near in the dark..

it doesnt matter a damn in my opinion, unless you are targeting very wary fish, or using a flyer on the shockleader...i normally use clear for fishing anyhow, and yellow or red for casting so you can find your crack offs easier!
