There's a great saying when it comes to different kinds of tackle, "There are things that catch fish, and there are things that catch fishermen." The SRT springs belong to the latter (in my opinion). I tried them a few years ago and found them a pain in the rear, especially if there's weed about, I realised that SRT must mean stupid ruddy things! Keep it simple.

I've used them in the past. They do have their uses but I guess it depends on how you fish. These days, the odd time I do get on the beach, anything I'm going to catch will usually be pretty close in, so I don't bother clipping down.

If you are fishing somewhere that calls for a bit of distance, they can help - they do make for a pretty streamlined clip-down rig if used right. I've never had weed problems with them, or sand jamming them, but that's because most of the beaches I fish are weed free and have very fine sand usually.

I'm a big fan of all the gemini rig components myself - definitely the business.

I've used these on Rigs quite a few times, In Conjunction with the ABC Clips, I found them dead on. :?

used em once..

only found them of any use when used with a static bait clip. i.e. using a two hook rig where the first hook clips into the swivel of the second snood and the second clips into the bait clip on the lead..

i have found using adjustable bait clips better all round.. 8) 8)

use them a fair bit when using bomber rigs. there extremly useful in this situation but the one thing i would say about them is not over tension them cause i found that they dont release as well when the pressure is too much

found they jam up with grit alright so i reckon i am gonna stop usin em. i know a lot of anglers that don't bother with them and anything that makes making rigs quicker is a good thing!! if the rig body you use dosen't have much stretch in it then everything should be fine if you use adjustable stoppers/ knots.

Hi Lads,
I use the srt springs quite alot even when surf fishing for bass.I like to have my bait clipped down, not only does it stream line your cast but keeps the bait intact. If i'm only fishing really close in or over rock then i won't use one,no need. But over sandy ground when i'm looking at casting 60-80 yards then they are a definate plus.If you don't use the srt but your still clipping your bait down you invariably find that your hook length stretches and you don't then get a snug fit to your clip thats what the srt is for,to compensate for the stretch.

I use them most of the time and find them great. I never have any problems with them jamming with sand. I only use a rig for one session and then break it down and rebuild. They have to help keep it all together when looking for the extra bit of distance.
