Hi I am looking advice on a suitable line for general beaching /shore fishing. I have a Daiwa 7ht reel and a Daiwa 13ft supercaster rod.

For Beach Fishing, Im going to say good old Reliable Daiwa Tournament in 15 - 18lb, or maybe Sakuma Night Crystal in 16lb, Both Lines have served me well. 8)

Hi Sam,
If you are just learning with the multiplier, my advice would be to buy reasonable quality line until you get used to it - birds nests are very much a part of the learning curve. Once you get used to the rod/reel and how to cast it - get the better quality lines, this will keep the cost of learning sensible.
Am using the Sakuma Nite Crystal in 14 and 18lb breaking strains for the majority of my fishing. It is available in 0.5Kg spools which you should be able to order from your local tackle shop ( Approx, half the price of buying the same quantity of line on 4onz spools ).

I use Berekley 25lb line, have no complaints, doesn't stretch or twist and good over rough ground. In Dublin it's about 17 Euro for a spool of 500 yards or so.

I have just changed over to Suffix Tritanium 15lb, its superb. A lovely limp, soft kind of line that doesnt go as wiry as say the Tournament which I was using before did after a period of time. Only used it a handful of times but I'm very impressed with it so far. Seems to have great birdie resisting properties too! The Daiwa Tournament was, however, the best line I had used until that for a long time.

And if you are not confused enough after all that, go and see your local tackle dealer. Its only by trial and error that you will find a line you like and more importantly...TRUST

Agree with the lads about suffix tritanium. Excellent line especially on a multi.

have to say with out doubt daiwa tournament line 15lb....have used other but nothing compares. the only off putting thing about this line is the bright flouresent colour...but have caught everything on this so maybe it's not a negative thing.
