Lahinch..?

Lads, I will be in Lahinch in a few weeks surfing. Was going to bring a rod just in case. Probably my trusty spinning rod. Does anyone know is it worth fishing anywhere around this area..?

Yeah had a look at them. Have fished it a few times but ages ago so really wanted to see how its fishing at the moment.

Gona bring the spinning rod and a few spinners/plugs and see how it goes.

I haven't fished it before. I tend to fish a few beaches a little further south. The area tends to start fishing a little later for Bass and you've timed your trip nicely as I have found the Bass fishing normally starts to get good around this time of year.
I hear the rocks at the end of the beach can be good.

Nice one. I would usualy head for a rock mark when fishing anyway and especially if its close to a beach but thanks for the tip off. The only problem with surf weekends is that the partying goes on til early am so going fishing without sleep isnt fun..!
Still, will definitly get out at least two mornings and evenings and fish. I have the monday off so plenty of time.

It's not really a rock mark, there are just rock barriers at the high tide mark. nevertheless you can spin from them at high tide, preferably around dusk. There would be a reasonable chance of picking up a fish close in on a plug or spinner.

However you're far better off bringing down a bass rod, a pair of waders, and a few frozen sandeel, and getting out into the surf. You'll catch far more fish this way.

Ah, now thats different. Will pack the waders so. Still prefer spinning than a static bait. Works very well on the likes on Inch in kerry.
Probably wont be able to get hands on bait so i'll stick to spinning. What is either end of the beach like..? Thats likely where I will concentrate.

Some additional information courtesy of Neilus and others and a few trips myself appeared in the Irish Angler about two months ago.

Aim to fish near dusk or in darkness... to avoid the surfers!
