Cant advise on marks mate as no idea but LSDs turn up on a variety of ground but in particular over sand at night in calm weather. For bait, anything really will catch them but the top 3 are mack, sandeel and squid. Ive had them on crab, razor, rag, lug too.

Give blackhead a try just under the light house ,theres a few ledges that aren't to bad to fish of beside the path ,really rough ground though so be prepared to lose some gear ,good chance of a half decent conger as well so put on a hook length of at least 100lb x 1foot long so you dont get bitten of ,evening would prob be your best bet and dont fish to far out as theres a fair run of tide by here . mackerel or sandeel for bait is your best bet .

the end of kilroot jetty or blackhead car park at the square rock at the corner nearest the sewerage pumping station cast towards blackhead lighthouse to a patch of sand surrounded by weed best in evenng, plenty of wrasse ,dogs and odd flattie and rockling in winter, let us know how you get on

best bait is a sandeel tipped witha cube of mackerel or piece of ragworm.
cut the head and tail of the eel of with a sharp knife, thread the eel on the hook( usually a size 1 kamazan or something like that), then whip the eel on with cotton all the way up the eel. then attach the mackerel strip to the end. fish a rig with a couple of hooklengths.
25lb snood will be enough for LSD's. stronger for bullhuss they're big brothers.
use a rotten bottom as they are mostly found when fishing rough ground.
they can be caught easily from some area in daylight but are even more prolific at night on a rising tide.
don't know any spots over your side but fish this and your a cert to catch.

Hi Chris,
Whitehead promenade also throws up dogs, as does Browns Bay and Portmuck.
Alot of the club members should be fishing Carnlough on 30th Sept and the last masters is on Cushendunn. You should have a good chance at either of those venues.
