was thinking of heading to Co, donegal for a day or two,s fishing/camping. Was wanting to know if anybody has any good marks where u could put up a tent close to the sea and keep the car safe and close at hand...?

Culdaff ain't a bad spot for camping. You can pitch a tent right beside the carpack above the beach, or on over behind Bunagee pier to the left of the beach is quiet enough to where you can fish from rocks or the pier.

I've just returned from a weekend in Donegal.
We fished St. John's Point on Sunday - great fishing.
There is an EXCELLENT hostel and campsite in Bruckless (next to St John's Point) called Gallaghers (€9 per night for camping), great facilities - well worth a look.
Go through Donegal town and head for Killybegs, Bruckless is the next town after Dunkineilly.
There was over 30kgs of fish caught between 10 club members on Sunday - great day.

Bruckless Pier: Mackerel, mullet, dogs, wrasse and flounder in places. Possible chance of a ray aswell...but you would need a good cast into the channel. If you walk out to the point to the left of the pier, about 15min walk, it would be a better place to try for ray. Plenty of wrasse and pollock here aswell, along with the odd sea trout , mullet and mackerel.
St. Johns Point: Mackerel can be hard to get a times, pollock not as good as they used to be, conger and loads of good wrasse fishing.
If your going to Teelin dont both with the pier, unless its a night, where you will get conger, whiting, coalies the odd pollock, dogs and the odd dab. During the day mackerel and mullet.
If I was you I would fish the rocks to the south west of the pier. Park at the first slipway and walk over the small hill on your right (you'll cross a wall with some metal cage things up against it) following the worn path. You'll come to a series of rocky platforms where you can get down the water. Mackerel are here all the time, even until november! First 25 yards is all rough before turning mixed before going to sandy ground. Really deep water where you can pick up almost anything: pollock, coalies, wrasse, dogfish, whiting, ling, rockling, congers, gurnards etc.

Maybe I made the pier sound a bit too good?
Mackerel will be quite scare at the pier unless high water, wrasse and pollock will be scare at the pier and will be quite small if you get any! There are flounder in the channel as Ive been told by a local angler as are the dogs. Ray are possible, not sure on the location, can be anywhere from the pier out along to the rocky point. There are ray along here somewhere, havent tried for them much. Out at the point you will get loads of specimen wrasse :D and some good pollock up to 6lb! Fish the side opposite the channel, its like a little cove. Sea trout and mullet seen here but havent caught them.

I heard from people in the past that thornback ray have been caught in Teelin, but never seen any caught.
Is the point your talking about, have a navigation light on the top of it, because always seen people fishing this area but casting into the bay, probably into the channel.

Yes that is the point, if there was a chance of ray it would probly be between the mixed to clean ground, or else a long cast onto the clean. Never head of anyone getting ray here, but theres no reason why they shouldnt be out there!! I have asked that question serveral times and no one has heard of ray being caught :o
