just a quick question , is there any mackerel around the east coast from the shore ? or have I missed them completely ?

I've been catching them on the rocks behind Bullock harbour, Bray head and Greystones the last 2 weeks, but it doesn't seem to be in full swing quite yet (for me anyway!)

Plenty of mackies around Howth at present. One suggestion - if you are going to use feathers, use hokkai's - they were outfishing normal feathers by about 10-1 last Friday evening.

at howth,what spot are you talking about? i fish the light house with hookais and only get pollock=(

I was on Balscadden rocks this morning, 28 mackerel in total in 2 hours. There were four others there and some were catching more.

had only 1 off balskadden this morning but i was fishing on the outoing tide so was better than none!

Surprising numbers of mackerel caught from both the Pier & the North Beach in Skerries last Saturday. Sunday - not a sausage.
