i was watching the usual early morning fishing programmes on discovery real time when hooked on fishing came on and he was travelling to carlingford lough so it obviously had me interested. well he fished of some beach round there using a plug that looked like a mackerel and pulled in a lovely bass to the shore!!! i was suprised coz i have never heard any reports on the forum or thru hearsay that there was bass getting caught around carlingford. its one fish i would love to catch and carlingford is a reasonable day trip for me. don't suppose any locals could recommend a good spot to try?? any replies would be most helpful!!

How are ya rab. Carlingford has a fair stock of bass alright. They hold a bass fishing festival there annually i think. Couldnt tell you where to fish on it though I'm afraid.

Yep, they're there and respond nicely to surface plugs and poppers early morning and evening. Good luck.
