i order gear from veals fairly regular and it usually arrives by a courier,i`ve never had any trouble with delivery time.not sure how long it should take to get to your neck of the woods but if i order before 12 pm i`ll always get my order by 10am next day without paying for next day delivery.

Same here Davey, never had a problem with mail order from Veals.
One of the best in the business.

Me too, although I try to order most of my equipment locally. Veals are great for plugs, spinners and tackle but I tend to buy rods n reels locally in Ireland.

Any bulk items will come by courier from veals. They usually come in a couple of days. Get in contact with veals. They should give you a tracking number or chase up where the items are. The problem is more than likely the courier and the items are waiting to be delivered in a depot.

Thanks all for the quick replies 8) , knew they had a good rep. This order was a rod but a small one, 1ft when collapsed.
Will contact them and see what they say.

So they gave me the tracking number and said it was posted May 31st and should have arrived.
Now, who do I contact with the tracking number, would it be my local post office?
Thanks,

Col,
This is how you use the tracking number........go to the website of who ever the carrier is....you will find where the tracking is on the site....type in the tracking number and away you go.....it should give details of the last scan done on your goods.
Good Luck.

That looks like it might have been delivered (but not to you obviously.) Either that or it has been out for delivery since 6th June and they haven't been able to contact you. In any case, you should phone them right away and get shipment status or/and ask for the name of person who signed for the goods.

Ok very drunk of now. After severel long calls they claim it was delivered and signed for on tuesday (I am aware of the ominous date)
Have called around to all neighbours asking, but no
As your probably aware I have had lots of problems getting this rod (look at previos threads) and have been waiting since early Feb for it from Viking and now this!
Local say to ring dublin to check who signed for it but greystones(local) say Dublin have it.???? :x
Anyone any advice or help? :cry:please

Greystones had your stuff last and gave it to someoone I would think they should know who, insist they tell you it is thier mistake and their job to sort. If they tell to contact Dublin politely sugest that they do it and call you back as you have tried before, get a name and say you would like it sorted within the day.
Veals are good and I have heard of them re-issuing a package that didn't make its intended recipient.

You should notify Veals in writing (email) that the parcel is missing. Give them the information you have and explain that An Post cannot provide proof of delivery. They should send a replacement parcel immediately.
Do the same with An Post but I wouldn't be waiting for a reply from them.
There's a great chance that the parcel will turn up but I would now treat it as being officially lost by An Post as they cannot provide you with proof of delivery. As they say hope for the best but expect the worst. Good luck with it.

Finally got the signature of who supposadley signed for it, can't make it out at all,(no writing in block capitals section) certainly looks nothing like the name which would of been on the parcel, mine!
Called to the rest of the neighbours (small estate in middle of nowhere) none got it but I'm sure they would have dropped it in before if they did.
Post people still say it was delivered somewhere here. :?:
Apparently next stop is an official complaint

Col,
I get stuff all the time by An Post, touch wood, never had many problems, never anything lost yet anyway....this I do know...it is the duty of the driver to put a card though your letter box with the details on for you, what it will say is "they wont come out again and you will need to collect it"
I doubt if the drive kept it, because they know a scream will go up, but if he has delivered it to the wrong address, and that includes a helpful neighbor, then its on the drivers head.....it may take some time though and I'm not sure how their insurance will cover you, either the whole loss or part...sorry to hear about it mate :(

Col,

Thanks Rockhopper and all, :)
definitely wasn't blaming the driver for taking it....yet
but he's new so could have made a simple mistake by dropping it into a neighbour by accident, only how could he not notice the clear difference to the signature given and name on the box( I now they don't have to be the same though).
The problem is the're adiment it was delivered to the estate on tuesday but no-one here has it!
Veals say to wait up to two more weeks to be sure but already waited since January and I'm an impatient so and so. I can't exactely afford to pay for the thing again.
Anyway sorry I took up space with my little rant

This what they have done for me before....phone the depot and ask for the drivers moblile number.....phone him and ask him what happened to your stuff....he will get his ass kicked for it.....its his duty to deliver to the ADDRESS on the label....never mind who signed for it....it must be whoever opend the door to him, think about it.
Tom.
