And it does not work with Firefox either - I suppose with their limited funds getting a pimply youth to do a bit of a decent site. :D

Hi

All the various angling federations have come together under the Angling Council of Ireland and they're looking at developing a website that will meet the needs of all anglers on the island - based on a certain website that seems to have proved the concept for them! More anon...

FWIW...

i totally agree that the state of the ifsa website is a bismal, but lets not fault the webmaster, perhaps he hasnt got the time on his hands to keep the info up to date, but if this is the case someone else must come forward to take over the rains!

as a federation and basically a spokesperson for sea angling here in the island of ireland, the new and most progressive way of communication and information gathering is via the internet, so as a federation we must keep up to speed with this.

i have seen that the scottish federation sea anglers site is now basically down and has been incorporated into 1 site for all angling in scotland with forums for each field of angling etc. http://www.fishscotland.co.uk
and the english and welsh sites are kept up to date fairly well.

to be honest im not too sure that this is the road for us to go down, if we have a specific press officer/webmaster perhaps this is a road to go down and build a good, info packed constructive site it will hopefully atract a few more anglers, but yes , i agree, something has to be done about it , very very soon, rather than later.

though this will only happen by positive action from members of the federation at an agm. lets all get on board to promote the sport here more, as this site is a shining light and great example of how to do it!

This is not too bad for a club site updated by a committee member in his spare time. Surely with all the cash available to the IFSA they could at least have an up to date website which would be of some use.

i think the money aint the object as it is already being paid every year to have the site, its perhaps the problem of getting someone with the interest, time and enthusiam to keep it up to date and so on...
Any volunteers??
