Never tried the rod it's only been out of the tube to have a look at it :lol: making sure they'ed sent the right rod out .
When i first got the letter informing me i'd won they said it was a bass rod and i was well chuffed ,surf rod just no good to me , ungrafeful i know !

It's a travel rod and as such, you should not expect too much of it, the whole point is that you can sneak it into a suitcase for the holidays or into one of the arm sleeves of a rucksack. I have the lighter Exage and its ok - I've posted a fairly detailed review of it in the tackle section and most people have agreed with the main points. At that money, for anyone who travels a lot and has a few hours to spare around the coast... it's a very good dea! Multi piece rods are naturally less flexible than their standard peers and as such the casting action can be marked down a bit, so distance wise you might suffer 10-20% but you'd still be fishing...

If I was in my previous job Ronald, I'd have your arm off down to the ankle for it at that price! :D :wink:

I was thinking about this but in the end, i don't travel really at all so i decided against it, i also thought the fact that it's 7 piece would limit the casting, i will be looking to upgrade my rod at some point through the summer (current rod is only a 12ft Redwolf beach and although i've had no problems with it, i'd prefer a 13/14ft rod for extra distance in casting). I'm sure you won't short of bidders anyway, Ronald, it seems like a cracking deal you're offering.

I don't have much knowledge on this subject at all but am hopeing you lot can help.
Would this rod compare at all to a 2 piece beachcaster in the 100euro range?
I'm in school so not making much money and wouldn't want to spend savings on a rod that's not suitable for me or my area (Wicklow beaches).
I cycle to marks so a travel one could be handy instead of strapping 6ft to the bike, but I don't mind that too much so it's not my main issue.

My current rod is a 25 year old :shock: abu atlantic 464 (gotten from uncle, apparently top rod in its day) so I am probably in need of a new one but... am not sure if this is the one? I would like it to be though.
