HELLO THERE I caught a a strange looking fish in graystones north beach a bout 10 year ago. it was the shape of a wrasse but it had rough skin like a dog fish and it had a big yellow hole under its gills does anybody no what it is ? I havent seen one like it since some guy on a boat on the harbor said it was a lunk suker fish but i think he was taking the piss has anyone ever caught one that fits the description :?: :? :? :? :? cheers

Not like that sandman it was a blacky brown color

Colour varies depending on the terrain they live in - those in through the kelp can be green/brown through to almost black.
They have modified pectoral fins which form a sucker underneath them - hence the name - lumpsucker.
