Bait supplies in Donegal

John McLaughlin's Swilly Flies & Angling Centre is now a stockist of the full range of Ammo baits - crab, sandeel, squid, worm - you name it. At last, decent bait, near to home. He's carrying a fair range of both boat and shore rods, accessories and tackle these days.

Handy, as it's on the way to most of the marks I'd fish most regularly - Portsalon, Kinnegar, Tra-na-Rossan etc.

He does sponsor the odd comp, and he's really making the effort to hold good stocks of the sea gear and bait, so I don't mind giving him a bit of a plug. Getting any sort of a tackle dealer or bait supplier in Donegal is rare enough - a good one is priceless.

You said it, the best tackle shop about, and will always do his best to get you anything you want.....angling related!

Cool :) , at last I can get my hands on Ammo sandeels and not those crap unmarked ones . Quite a good tackle dealer is John, got lots of good mustad stuff aswell.

As consumers, we should be insisting on the best and not quietly accepting pink squid, mushy sandeel and freezer-burned mackerel. It's hard enough to catch on a good day without having to contend with poor bait.
