Have 2 main set ups I fish with most frequently, a 14' surfblaster teamed with 525 and a Grauvell Tektron 4200 14' with Daiwa Emcast FS. In the main I have to say I prefer the Multiplier set up, however casting with the Tektron is so easy its childs play, can chuck about 15-20 yards further with the multi set up though when I get it right. Life is made much simpler with the long rod and FS though, no birdies, no need for fancy casting styles, no hitting and hoping at night...... Doesnt matter really what multi you have, its hard to beat the retrieve rate on a decent FS when winching over snags etc.
Dont give up on the multi set up altogether though mate, its hard to describe the feeling when you really hit a cast properly and can just listen to the spool humming as it sails way way out..... Although this is somewhat counteracted by numerous birdies along the way :(
I dont have a K2 but having played with them before, Im not too sure as to whether Id be dying about using a 16' rod for rough ground, it will be perfect however for sending baits to the horizon on a beach, the difference an extra couple of feet makes is savage. When I moved from 12' set ups to 14' it stuck 30 yards on instantly.
