Ballymoney Beach

#1 Post by paisley buddie »

Hi everyone,

We’re travelling over to Ireland from Scotland for our annual Spring trip next week - Our first since 2019.

We normally fish at Kilgorman and have done so with reasonable success. Nothing big but generally a good mix of species.

We are staying in Ballymoney this year and the beach is on our doorstep, so we were wondering if it was worth a cast ?

I see it’s only a few miles from Kilgorman so would similar baits and rigs work on this beach ?

Thanks in advance for any information.

Graham

Hi Graham, I've only fished Ballymoney beach twice both times were in October/November. Plenty of flounder and dabs and my mate had a decent bass about 4lb. Using normal type rigs etc with rag lug and mackerel for bait
