MONKEYwrasse caught them from the Wexford side of the estuary, and Teegerstk caught some from the Hook, across from Dunmore. I fished Duncannon yesterday but no hounds, only dogs. Ragworm seems to be bait the hounds are going for at the moment

They are definitely there,.

Regarding bait, I know there's a guy at Duncannon, if you message Teegerstk he may have his number??

You can dig rag at Arthurstown, Wexford side of the estuary, lugworm and sandeel can be found on Duncannon Beach.

I'm pretty sure you can get rag in the shops in Waterford City (might have to head in there tomorrow short notice) although the quality and price were not great last time.
As rod tips says you can buy some off a bait collector from Ducannon (I can give you his number, always has great peeler, rag and lug).
Otherwise as stated you can dig in Duncannon where I'm told is great but it was hard going for me (still plenty for a session, along with a few sandeel and the odd white rag if you're lucky).

They are for sure around, over the past month I've hit into a good few, on frozen peeler and squid but as you can see from MonkeyWrasse's report, the rag is king it seems! Best of luck
Edit: some smaller tides this weekend but still flooding into darkness, hopefully the weather is good and you'll get a few!

Just a wee update, had a session on Monday evening on a beach near Bannow which was pretty slow- one smooth hound over 3 hours while fishing fresh peeler with 2 rods. I guess this current weather isn't helping either :?

Hit the estuary this evening seeing plenty of hounds caught and got 2 myself to 4lbs on peeler crab.

Nah I usually mean anywhere from Ballyhack onwards going south. Duncannon, Arthurstown or Passage all well worth a shot. Never fished the mudhole but it's on my list this winter
