Came home from England last week looking forward to a spot of sea fishing as i haven't been in months as i'm in the Mid-Lands, Open the shed when i go home and all of my Sea Gear has been robbed, very P****d off! thats the second time in a few years thats happened(They always leave my fresh water tackle, weird!)
Did find a 12' foot beachcaster for 9.99 on the internet though, wouldn't say its any use but at least i can go fishing when i come home in a couple of weeks!
Sorry about the rant just very annoyed, get no symphaty at home i need a hug if there's one goin :)

Sorry to hear about that,at least if they rob the new beachcaster it's only 9.99 lost,I just hope you don't leave it in the same spot.

I have a theory that it's the people who make the locks for my shed who are robbing the stuff, i think its a conspirecy by the lockmen to make bad locks so that they can take my fishing gear :)
Ah well hopefully i'll be able to replace the essentials soon enough!
Well most of it anyway i also had some cane rods and an old centre pin reel and flies and stuff from the 40's n 50's that i wanted to clean up and repair, ah well thats life i suppose!

I was broken into just before Christmas, when I was away. They were disturbed by the neighbour who saw tha garage light on. Apart from cash and my new jacket, they only took a cheapish telescopic spinning rod and Abu f/s reel and my big box of assorted hooks, swivels, links and so on. I didn't believe it was gone until I found myself looking in the same place for the third time! They left the mulitpliers, boat rods and beachcasters. The odd thing was that they left a new laptop that was smaller than the box of hooks. So I suppose I was very lucky; I just have this vision of someone dressed in my new jacket, with a rod and reel in one hand and a big component box under the other arm leaping over the garden wall...

What about getting the gear insured? Should come under house insurance, I would imagine.

My bag with all of my best bits in it was robbed last year just off Pearse St. Back window of the car smashed and they had to go to the hassle of dropping the back seats to get into the boot.

what is the world coming to...

Got broken into twice... they didnt touch any of the computers, music equip, dvd's, cd's, and other stuff i wont mention.. they only took my rent money which i was going to pay that evening ( a months rent ), a pair of socks???,
a mini disc player which i found in the bushes the next day, and about 15 euro in 1,2 and 5 cents??
The secod time they broke in the back kitchen window and walked out the back door, nothing touched or taken??

i think i'll start keeping my stuff under my matress!!!!

Just to prove how mad the world is, a laptop was stolen from work a couple of weeks ago apparently by someone using a fishing rod to drag the laptop over to an open window

Definitely a job for a beefy beachcaster ...

i wonder if it was Neil's stolen rod that was used to steal the laptop...
now that would be ironic...

Anyone know if you need anything special on your policy to cover fishing gear in a shed?

And on the subject of insurance, suppose you hypothetically slammed the boot lid on the tip of your rod (or dropped a fish on it, a la John Wilson :) ), would having an all risks policy cover you?

Personal note... Get lock for shed.

Sorry to hear of your misfortune lads....

Due to an argument with a seal I recently lost a Team daiwia tdx 20-50 lb class rod and an abu 7000 reel ... insurance paid up no problem

Im Insured through the farmers union
