Well lads.
Was doing Abit of metal spinning for bass at strand hill this evening but I wasn't very comfortable there in my waders, there is a fair dangerous rip out of it. Just wondering is this normal or is it just the way the sand has moved from storm? I'll be heading more north tomorrow was gonna try south of streedagh point, looks alright on Google maps does anyone with any info be great.

It''s notorious for the rip off that beach. It has been the site of several drownings over the years. Would NOT recommend it.
Maybe fish it off high water off the rocks but not a place for wading.

There are several rocky beaches for example east of Aughris Head that are far safer and still throw up the odd bass and ST.
Streedagh point has a ferocious current on the southern tip, rocks to fish off, safe enough, throws up sea trout to lures.

If you are going to go as far as Streedagh you might as well go the extra couple of miles to mullaghmore. Streedagh last week was mostly small turbot and weevers. Mullaghmore has been fishing well recently

Sorry didn't read the original post right. If you are lure fishing then culleenamore strand is around the corner from strandhill. The channel is a fine mark for trout about 2 hours each side of low water

Be very careful on Strandhill. Very dangerous beach and you can get caught out very handy. Bass will come to bait on the northern end of the beach at low water but much better and much safer marks around Sligo, that will throw up trout and bass with less risk. Give the back of Coney Island a go, be sure of the ride and don’t get caught out there or you could end up doing a very long session

This make me laugh!

I was once autocorrected (I swear!) from gypsy to gimp which in the context was nothing short of a disaster! Don't think the poor woman has spoken to me since...

Cheers lads. Hit mullaghmore and got two hits on the kilty but no fish landed. I'll try to go back up again and get few hours in. Lovely part of the country.thanks very much for all the posts.
