Not a sign of one down these parts or at least I haven't heard of one.
Any chance of all members posting here on the Dogfish they are catching so as to build up an over all picture of when and where they start to be caught around the coast.

Couldnt get away from them a few weeks ago in Little kilary, no sign of them in daylight around here yet thankfully!! Theyre around after dark though!

As Sean has stated little killary had them around although a week later they appeared to have moved on as there were none around.
Was catching them at Roonagh pier a few days ago, but none at Old head a few miles down the road.

Got them in Gorteen in Connemara in early Feb, mainly after dark. Well I only got one, but some other lads were doing well!

Heaps of them in south Donegal prior to Christmas, since then they have become a lot thinner on the ground. The end of this month and the start of next should see the numbers start to build again

I've had dogs all year from the east coast on tope baits i.e. whiting flappers. In the early part of the year, they were not taking normal baits like sandeel but were very content to sit and shovel a whole fish down. If you missed the cursory nod on the rod tip, they would give no other indication of being present. It seemed they were not feeding freely but were just too greedy to pass up on such a large offering.
