Which one has a best delivery rates for Ireland??? Any experiences?

Depends what your ordering. Veals do a pretty good rate for most things. Just had a rod in an 8 foot long plastic tube and a smaller box delivered to Dublin by Summerlands and it cost me about 28 sterling if that's any help.
Best to give them a ring and find out.

all depends what you are looking to buy, i find that by buying from local shops it normally works out cheaper! they sometimes will match a mail order price, and you dont have any p+p to pay!!
l+g tackle also do a mail order service to both north and south from larne co.antrim, could be worth a try?

"Glasgow angling centre are cheap enough I've found" sandman
they may be cheap the the customer service is piss poor. i use mail order alot since the tackle shop closed in carrick and the poorest of they all is Glasgow because when u phone u they tell u that the item is in stock and u order it, then 5 days later still know tackle. i then got on the phone with them and they told me that the cool bag that i order will not be in the country for a month which was no good to me because i was planing to use that weekend at the masters. i got the bag about 7-8 weeks after ordering it :( :( :( but i use Gerry's of morecambe and never had any trouble with them

I have used Veals and they are good, very reliable. I got a supermag from Tony's within three days (ordered at the swords show) and there is no way anyone this side of the water would have matched the price. they are at least worth a phone call.

Thanks for replies guys, looking for few things to buy but found that most tackle shops around are major rip-off. Except when they have "sales" when they bring along a normal prices... Will check Veals and Gerry's...

dont be too put off about glasgow. I use only them and have found them great. customer service has been grand and proces are great. I suppose it can happen that things go wrong no matter who u deal with

Gerrys charge cheaper rates for postage but the delivery time is slower. You will get a Veals delivery in 3 days - could be waiting 2 weeks for Gerrys. Veals usually knock a few quid off the overall bill if you ask.

Have had mixed results with the Glasgow Angling Centre folk, had to wait over a month for a set reel covers when the rest of my order had already arrived. If you don't mind waiting then they are fine. Have had mixed results from Gerry's of Morecambe too. Veals are incredibly reliable and deliver faster than any of the rest of the UK companies.

veals would be my choice,i always get my order next day without paying extra for it.wouldn`t go near tonys tackle again,i tried to buy ghost coccoon bait thread and all i got was `what do you need that for` and `you would be better using our elastic`.so i hung up and phoned gerrys instead.at least they didn`t quiz me on why i wanted ghost coccoon.

There's a place I've used that ship from Guernsey, they are very reliable and quite cheap compared to UK prices. I've only bought rig building bits but they've never let me down before.

I know everyone is going on about but Veals - but they are that damn good. They are really serious about providing the best customer service possible.
Glasgow are absolutely dreadful. Shocking. They have a nasty habit of sending me things that I didn't order, because what I did order was out of stock (i.e. ordered a Shakespeare FS beachcaster - they sent me the multiplier version - great, except I didn't own a multi at the time). They have also been cheeky enough to send me a reel I didn't order, because the one I ordered was "just sold out". And they make no effort to contact you before doing this, even though they will claim they tried to ring.
However the flipside is that you'll save yourself a few quid on postage. They only charge £10 postage to Ireland MAX, no matter how much you order. So if you were ordering a rod, tripod and waders for instance, you could save up to 50 euro on delivery alone.
Every deal has it's pro's and cons!
