Block head light house co clare

I drove up the west coast today up past doolin towards fanore and i came across blackhead lighthouse, im thinking of fishing there in april would any one know what the ground is like and is it any good for ground fishing, im traveling from cork make a weekend out of it thanks

Rough ground in close and clean sand at distance, pollock wrasse and conger would be the usual for close and flats, dogfish, and possibility of ray at distance. Usually fishes better later in the season July - November. But has thrown up surprises through out the year, spurdogs and tope have been caught there too..

metals are excellent, hard plastics are good if not Rapalas, but you're talking rarely more than a Euro each!!!
Big discounts on currently, probably clearing end of lines.

Back around the corner, towards Fanore side, there are some platforms to fish from where the sand is easier to reach.... Flounder and doggies main quarry. Nice pollack to be had float fishing mackerel strips over rough ground. Conger in amongst the weeds. Nice spot. Although sometimes littered which is a pity
