Does anyone know where to get a good budget tripod in Dublin ?

Most of the tackle shops sell them, although you might be better off spending an extra few quid on a good brand, than on a cheaper one which will fall apart. Give ABC, Southside, Rory's and Henry's a call and ask how much they charge (you'll get 15% off the rrp in Henry's this week).

Thanks for advice mate. They had a good tripods review in TSF magazine, so Ill probably go for one of those that they recommended. Probably online :)

Cause a rod can cost 400 euro and another 175 for penn 525supermag.
I don't fancy seeing it draged through the Sand, smashed of the rocks, falling off the pier. 50 for a good Ian golds stand .........priceless.

If you want to drag an ex-tree big enough to keep your line out of the waves around after you, and if you can fit it into the car for the occasions when you can't find a suitable tree to hack lumps off, then I say go for it!!
(Just make sure it's a genuine Ian Golds branch :) )
