Smoothhounds in mayo??

Mon Jun 05, 2017 11:22 am

Hey guys,

Started back into the shore angling after a couple of years out, and I'm just wondering if anyone on here has ever caught any smoothies in mayo. I'm catching the usual stuff, mainly fatties and ray and dogs, but would like to try for something a bit bigger and a bit of a fighter!! Any info would be much appreciated!! Cheers, D...

They're almost exclusively east coast fish. 1 or 2 have been turning up in Tralee bay the last couple of years though!

You might have a shot to their cousin, the spurdog, but that would have to be off a boat. Smoothies are like gilt heads, they have not make it up here... yet!
