Hi peeps
Looking for a bit of local knowledge and help - long time since I've been down to the Kingdom but headed there with the family over Easter.
Hope to escape for at least one decent session so looking for advice.
Is it still a bit early for the rays - viaduct, SPA - and should I stick to the surf beaches? If not, where would I go for a shot at rays other than thornies? Never had a stinger (too early?) and only ever had one undulate before... Is there anything happening on Fenit Island (recall a good session near the wee beach at the north end many years ago)? Is Landers still the place to buy bait and is Colm still working there? If I end up on Banna, Black Rock, etc. is there anything that will help my odds? PMs welcome.

Right...
First many thanks for the contacts in Tralee Bay SAC, they've been very helpful.
Low water (almost a full moon now) will be running at 3-5 pm in the afternoons, so my plan is to hit a low water mark or retire to Fenit pier.
Landers will be getting a visit. Don't expect to be hitting the beaches although the rumour is for dry and reasonably settled weather over Easter.
$%&($ new braid has not arrived, but such is life. Am I missing anything?

Hi Kieran- just wondering how you got on for the ray fishing over Easter? I'm trying for my first ray off the shore at the moment with no joy! Going to be going home to Tralee next weekend (from Cork) and will get the lines wet- hopefully with a ray! Any advice you got or can give will be much appreciated! Only took fishing back up a few months ago there after about 12 years of doing nothing- so starting from basics again!

Weather was sh*te and the fishing was not much better. Bitter cold wind, nasty chop on the water on the beaches, too much weed, tried Fenit and put up a report, but was very disappointed. Think I may have been about a month too early weather and temperature wise. Fenit is a venue you need to fish without any vehicular traffic - which I had forgotten. Was told that Fenit Island was fishing better but there were access issues with some guys trying to fence off the island. IF you are looking for reports, recommend the site above and in particular calling into Tralee Bay SAC. Talked to their secretary and she was incredibly helpful and knowledgeable... HTH.
