Fishing at pier few weeks ago. Only few small coalies. But lots of baiting. Maybe my hooks vas to big.

Hi, haven't fished there in quite a few years, but always had a few coalies and poorcod close in the the pier, pouting and codling to 30cm at a bit of distance to the right off the end of the pier. Use size 1 or 2 hooks anything larger and you'll miss bites. Try to fish it over high tide too, spring tides usually best at the pier over winter as larger fish come in a little closer. Mackerel and squid are good baits, and if you can get hold of lugworm even better.

Good luck and I hope ye both catch.
