If anyone else fancies it I'm thinking of heading out on wednesday evening about 8/9 for a few hours to see if I can bag a few spring codling, should be decent fishing, especially after all the easterlies we've had recently and by all accounts (met ireland) they will continue. Providing I can get a few peelers i'll be there,
any takers??? :D

Hello there alby, might try to make it out meself. If your struggling for peelers henrys might be worth a shot, hes been pretty good this winter for them. Think he has a new supplier

Hi Alby,
Yeah as Sean says Henrys would more than likely have crab at the minute, however I don't know how well you will do off N.Beach at the moment. We have scoured it in the boat over the past few weeks and had plenty of coalies on crab, but no decent codling at all. Plenty of Dogs too. Maybe Ballgannon may hold a few, tends to outfish NB for codling this time of the year. :)

Thanks for that Robert,
I'm fairly confident the NB can produce after easterlies so i'll give it a bash, but if there's nothing doing i'll move down to the gannons. I've just always done better on the NB so I'm stuck in my ways now, it's my fav local venue, look at me tempting fate!
All the better if ye can make it down Sean, hopefully Mark can make it too, 6 rods are better than 2 and all that!

I completely agree that NB produces after easterlys, especially if the water is brown in colour, but the winds have been north easterly :( and if the beach is lumpy but gin clear then you be doing well to get them.
Anyways be interested to hear how you do, tight lines.
