Spent two excellent days fishing Dursey Sound in 2004, take the cable car to the island and there is an excellent mark to the right of the Pylon on the Island. Travel light and take care crossing over to get access down to the rocks, strightforward clamber across steep hillside leading down to cliff edge - you can't be too careful!. Excellent Wrasse fishing, lots of pollock and occasional makerel. If you're lucky you can watch some dolphins swim past at your feet, fantastic. Congers available at night, if you can camp overnight on the Island - do so, and get close to the waterline. I fished from too high up and had to watch a 20lb plus eel twist off, no way I could lift to where I was fishing. Fishing from the lanward side is good also.
Marks on the Landward side can ce seen in pic from Cable Car

Seen that alright they had some nice fishin too, mind you you'd think by the way he goes on that he had discovered Dursey all by himself and that the Paddies never thought about fishin it.

we fish the mizen head side of the dursey sound alot. get plenty of wrasse and pollock, coupled with huss and conger when we target them. i feel the potential in this area is huge. we have yet to meet another bait angler out around the mizen.
